SERVER OVERVIEW QuickMail Pro Server offers simple yet powerful electronic mail services on a Mac OS host, handling both Internet and intranet mail delivery. You can easily configure both simple mail systems with just a few users as well as elaborate, frequently changing corporate configurations.PRODUCT FEATURES
The Version 3 release of QuickMail Pro Server includes the following features and enhancements:
- User data configured at the Server automatically gets transferred to each Client application on the mail system so that individual users do not have to enter the information themselves.
- Seamless integration with the mail client and server components completes the model for a full-featured communication center.
- Increased support for groups, multiple aliases, shared inboxes, and name cache handling lets individual users maintain a variety of personas to use in different situations. Workgroup communication can also be more easily maintained.
- Worldclass user interface. QuickMail Pro Server’s tabbed dialogs and icon-based options make mail administration more intuitive.
- Scalability. Start your Internet E-mail system with a basic dial-up UUCP connection and advance to direct SMTP connections as your business needs change.
- Flexibility. Work with any E-mail client software, regardless of platform or connection method. QuickMail Pro Server supports the full range of open protocols: Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP), Post Office Protocol (POP3), and UNIXtoUNIX Copy Protocol (UUCP). TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol) can be handled over either direct network or dial-up connections.
- Ease of use. QuickMail Pro Server is easy to use, yet powerful enough to support up to 1,000 users per server.
- Advanced reporting and logging tools. QuickMail Pro Server generates automatic status reports, tracks storage usage, offers extensive logging, and notifies you of performance and security issues.
- AppleScript support. Use scripts to format your logs, suspend the server for backups, distribute address books, and link the server with other applications.
